Users can now stream Promare and other animated films on HBO Max

On January 4, 2021, GKIDS Films, a publishing house which frequently distributes Studio Ghibli projects, unveiled a new range six titles coming out on HBO Max this month. As of January 12, 2021, these securities, which include Promare, are now available to be broadcast on the platform.

Two documentaries on Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki are also available. They are the 2013 movie The realm of dreams and madness and Endless Man: Hayao Miyazaki. The last three titles that complete the new selection are the animated feature films Weathering with You, Ride Your Wave, and The night is short, walk on Girl.

The official GKIDS Films Twitter account went on to mention that Alter with you on HBO Max has a “strange problem” with audio and subtitles. “Some users have said that by selecting the Spanish language option from the main movie menu, you can access the Japanese version with English subtitles,” the company said.

Studio trigger Promare only recently became available in North America after two limited-edition theatrical releases and the debut of its physical version. A collector’s edition including an original soundtrack from the CD, the film’s script, decals and a poster has also been released. Those interested in the anime who want to express their love for the series in Zoom Meetings can also download Promare History shared by the distributor towards the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
