The Witcher producer shares exciting details on upcoming animated series
The world of The Witcher is growing with several new projects already underway. We have seen the animated film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf before and now another project is in development. So what can we expect in the new anime? Executive producer Tomek Baginski has shared an interesting update on the upcoming film.
Baginski recently spoke to Naekranie where he admitted that the sequel to The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf is in development. Interestingly, the executive producer said the first draft has been completed and he’s already read it on his own.
“We’re at a pretty early stage, I recently read the first draft,” Baginski said.
But what can we expect in the new anime? Baginski played coy, choosing to be vague with the details.
“It is based on one of the stories we know from the world of The witcher, so the source is entirely from Sapkowski’s books, but what story I would rather keep a secret, “Baginski said.
It’s an interesting update considering people loved what happened in The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. So, will the new anime continue to follow Vesemir on a new adventure? Unfortunately, we won’t have the chance to see Geralt of Rivia’s mentor again yet. It has already been confirmed that the next anime will focus on another storyline from the Witcher universe.
It’s still going to be a long wait for Witcher’s next anime, but fans will have plenty of content to keep them satisfied for now. The second season of the original show is already slated to air on Netflix on December 17, 2021. In addition to that, a live-action prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin is currently in production and is scheduled to air already in 2022.
