The list of new anime shows and movies coming to Netflix in 2020 and beyond • Anime UK News

In recent years, Netflix has expanded its line of anime on its streaming service. Many of these came from streaming exclusivity deals, but the platform offered audio options in multiple languages, including English.

For 2020, Netflix again continues to bring more new (and delayed for international audiences) anime. January saw the appearance of more series of CG remakes of Saint Seiya Knights of the Zodiac as good as Ni no Kuni film. But there are many more in store in the coming months.

The Netflix model is also often confusing in terms of labeling. The Netflix Originals label is typically for shows and movies produced by Netflix, however, for cartoons it was primarily used for streaming exclusivity, so that doesn’t always mean Netflix was involved in production.

Netflix has also made deals with a few animation studios, including Bones (Super crooks), David Production (Spriggan), MAPPA (Yasuke), IG production (Ghost in the shell SAC_2045), WIT Studio (vampire in the garden) and even Fuji’s + ULTRA programming block (BEASTS, BNA: brand new animal).

If you’re familiar with our 2018 and 2019 roundups, we feature a list of every anime heading to Netflix and update this roundup whenever new information appears throughout the year.

We will present the list in alphabetical order. Many of these titles will be a “Delaycast,” meaning that the series or film in question will be released in Japan and will be available on Netflix Japan, but not immediately in the rest of the world. Netflix prefers the frenzy model and wants to offer multiple language dubs simultaneously, which mainly explains the delays.
