New Sailor Moon Eternal anime films video features transforming sequence for 6 Guardians E! News UK


The official website of the Sailor moon the franchise began releasing a new video on Friday for both parties Bishōjo Senshi Sailor Moon Eternal (Pretty Guardians Sailor Moon Eternal The MOVIE) animated film project. The video features a transformation sequence for the six Sailor Guardians.

The website also revealed a second visual for the first film on November 30.

The first film was originally scheduled for release in Japan on September 11, but has been postponed to January 8, 2021 due to the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Japan. The second film will be released on February 11, 2021.

New cast members for the films include:

  • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Pegasus / Helios
  • Shuta Aoi like Fish Eye
  • Satoshi hino like tiger eye
  • Toshiyuki Toyonaga like Hawk’s Eye
  • Yuko hara as JunJun
  • Reina ueda like CereCere
  • Sumire morohoshi like PallaPalla
  • Rie takahashi like VesVes
  • Naomi Watanabe like zirconia
  • Nanao like Queen Nehellenia

The film marks 25 years since the franchise last had a work screened in theaters in Japan.

Creator of original manga Naoko Takeuchi is credited with the original work and supervision. Chiaki-kon comes back from Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal: Season III make both films. Kazuko Tadano, the character designer for the original Sailor moon anime, design the characters. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (JoJo’s bizarre adventure TV animates the five parts, Land of shine, PriPara) writes the scripts. Toei distributes the film. DEEN studio co-produced the film alongside Animation Toei.

Momoiro Clover Z and the main actors perform the theme song “Tsukiiro Chainon” (Moonlight Chainon).

The returning cast includes:

  • Kotono Mitsuishi as Usagi Tsukino / Sailor Moon
  • Hisako Kanemoto as Ami Mizuno / Sailor Mercury
  • Rina Satou as Rei Hino / Sailor Mars
  • Friend Koshimizu as Makoto Kino / Sailor Jupiter
  • Shizuka Itou as Minako Aino / Sailor Venus
  • Misato fukuen as Chibi-Usa / Sailor Chibi Moon

The two-part film project will replace a fourth season for Sailor Moon Crystal. The films will cover the “Dead Moon” arc of Takeuchi’s original manga.
